A late win at Fulham on Saturday afternoon provided some much-needed respite for Erik ten Hag and his Manchester United side but the pressure is back on tonight as the Red Devils return to Champions League action.

United are already lagging behind in Group A and need a result against FC Copenhagen to prevent Bayern Munich and Galatasaray from pulling further away. Here's the latest round-up of takeover news surrounding the club as Sir Jim Ratcliffe's arrival continues to loom large over the club.

Sheikh Jassim remains frustrated that his 10-month pursuit of a deal for United, which is believed to have cost the Qatari millions of pounds, didn't work out but will remain a Red Devils supporter nonetheless. Sheikh Jassim withdrew his £5 billion bid endeavours last month with Sir Jim Ratcliffe now set to buy 25% of the club for more than £1.25 billion. The Sheikh was looking for a 100% deal to make United debt-free but the Glazers will remain involved with the Ratcliffe structure. The Mirror reports that Sheikh Jassim 'bears no ill' towards Manchester United and will continue to will the club on from afar.

Man Utd shareholder shares takeover frustration

One of United's biggest shareholders has shared concerns about the process of a deal to the Financial Times. Lindsell Train owns around 20% of United's class A shares, which are traded on the New York Stock Exchange. Nick Train, part of the UK fund managers said: "I've got to assume that we're closer to some sort of an announcement or crystallisation of value but who knows when or quite what shape it will take if the rumours are correct. I've no basis for knowing if they are or not." Train added that the whole takeover process had been 'extremely convoluted and lengthy'.

Sir Jim eyes up £44m star and holds virtual meetings with Glazers

The Manchester Evening News reports that Sir Jim Ratcliffe has already held virtual meetings with co-chairman Joel Glazer as to how the club will change once his stake purchase is pushed over the line. Sir Jim, who has experience in the sport from owning Nice and FC Lausanne-Sport, is set to take control of football operations at Old Trafford. During those meetings, it is believed the pair talked about structural and personnel changes. The Sun suggests that the INEOS businessman is also ready to implement a transfer plan with £44 million Nice midfielder Jean-Clair Todibo a priority.
