Manchester United are now just days away from returning to Europa League action.

The Red Devils take on Barcelona away from home on Thursday night, and they are going to need a big performance at Old Trafford, going into the clash level at 2-2. It’s a bid week all-round for Erik ten Hag’s men, who fight for their European lives on Thursday, just days before their Carabao Cup final with Newcastle United at Wembley Stadium.

In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest news surrounding Old Trafford.

Dalot interest

La Liga interest in United star Diogo Dalot doesn’t seem to be going away.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid and Barcelona remain interested in the right-back, who will be in the final year of his contract from this summer. Ten Hag has favoured Aaron Wan-Bissaka of late, and United have been heavily linked with adding another right-back to their squad this summer.

That could force them into a decision over Dalot, and it seems two of La Liga’s biggest clubs are well aware of the opportunity that may pop up. It will be interesting to see whether United decide to offer Dalot a new contract in the meantime.

United’s cup final ‘advantage’

Gary Neville has been speaking about the Carabao Cup final and the possible ‘advantage’ the Red Devils have due to the suspension of Newcastle goalkeeper Nick Pope.

“Newcastle not having (Nick) Pope for the Carabao Cup final on Sunday is a blow to them,” said the pundit. “But it’s a cup final. Newcastle will be desperate to win, just as Man Utd will be. But it has to be an advantage to United for Newcastle to lose such an important player.”

Pope was sent off for a handball during Newcastle’s defeat to Liverpool over the weekend, and he will now miss the next three games, starting with the Carabao Cup final.
