Football Manager 2024 has been released live on Steam through early access and fans of the popular game are already sinking their teeth into the latest edition.
The series is now over 30-year old and an impressive worldwide database of clubs, players and staff gives gamers the opportunity to take charge of their beloved clubs and attempt to guide them to unprecedented successes. Just for fun, we simulated three years into the future with the new game to see how clubs across the Premier League and the rest of the world had fared.
Here is how the Manchester United starting XI looked in our simulation at the close of the 2026 summer transfer window:
1. GK - Andre Onana
Retains his position as United’s first choice stopper throughout our sim with Brazilian keeper Bento his current back-up at the start of the 26/27 campaign
2. RB - Diogo Dalot
A regular starter in 23/24 and 24/25 but moves to Villarreal on loan for the 26/27 season. Returns to Old Trafford and competing with £19m signing Alastair Johnston from Celtic to be starting right back
3. Luke Shaw
United spend £45m to sign German left back David Raum from RB Leipzig in 2024 but Shaw is very much the preferred option throughout our sim
4. CB - Ousmane Diomande
The Red Devils spend £44m to sign the Ivorian from Sporting CP in January 2026, he makes 11 league appearances in the second half of that seasons and now appears to be established as a key part of the defence
