Manchester United are set to overhaul their squad next season with Harry Kane and Declan Rice among a list of names the club want to sign, it’s been said today.

United, who sit seventh in the Premier League table, three points off the top four, have eight games remaining this campaign.

The Red Devils are looking to appoint Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s successor at the earliest opportunity with Ajax boss Erik ten Hag the bookies’ favourite for the job.

Ten Hag is likely to beat Mauricio Pochettino to the hot seat at Old Trafford, with Sky Sports claiming United are ‘close to finalising’ the appointment of the former.

Now it looks as if the Red Devils board want to show significant ambition by attempting to lure both Kane and Rice to the club this summer.

According to the Evening Standard, United have ‘identified’ the duo as targets for the upcoming transfer window.

They add that the club is also monitoring fellow England international Jude Bellingham, but don’t expect a move for the Borussia Dortmund midfielder to materialise in the near future.

Kalvin Phillips to United?

Elsewhere, according to the Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils are ‘working’ on a deal to bring Kalvin Phillips to Old Trafford.

The midfielder has been a key part of Leeds United’s team since 2016, making 227 appearances for the Whites since then.

A deal for either of the three players won’t come cheap, especially with West Ham’s valuing Rice at £150m, while Kane would also likely cost north of £100m.

However, this might not be a problem for United, who are set to give ten Hag a transfer ‘war chest’ to revamp the squad, according to the Telegraph.

This will likely be available due to the club freeing up a significant number of wages from several first team players potentially departing at the end of the campaign.

Paul Pogba, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, Edinson Cavani and Lee Grant are all out of contract at Old Trafford in June, while the newspaper adds the Red Devils’ hierarchy will also look to offload fringe players this summer.
