Manchester United were left red-faced once again on Tuesday evening after slumping to a 4-0 defeat at the hands of bitter rivals Liverpool at Anfield.

The Red Devils failed to get going on Merseyside, and were soundly beaten by a rampant home side, who once again reiterated their quadruple credentials.

If there was one significant take away from United’s performance, however, it’s that the need for a positive summer of recruitment is greater than ever.

With that in mind, here are all the latest transfer rumours involving Ralf Rangnick’s men...

Torres interest revived

Manchester United are reportedly keen on signing Villarreal centre-back Pau Torres this summer.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to Old Trafford before, and after a season in which defensive frailties have repeatedly plagued the Red Devils, the Manchester Evening News suggest that they have ‘revived’ their interest.

Any deal for the Spaniard could cost in the region of £50 million.

United consider new deal for De Gea

Manchester United will sit down with David de Gea ‘in the coming months’ to discuss a new contract, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

The Spanish goalkeeper has been one of United’s few consistent performers this season, and has drawn praise from interim manager Ralf Rangnick while others around him have floundered.

De Gea is out of contract in Manchester next summer, but as a result of his impressive performances of late, it is understood that United are keen to hold talks over an agreement that would keep him at the club for a while longer.

Manchester United have emerged as bookies’ favourites to sign Benfica striker Darwin Nunez this summer.

The Benfica is expected to leave Portugal at the end of the season after a prolific campaign in which he has already scored 33 times across all competitions.

At the time of writing, the Red Devils are priced at 2/1, ahead of rivals Liverpool (3/1), Real Madrid (7/1), and Barcelona (9/1), as per SkyBet.

Any deal for the forward could cost around £67 million.
