Manchester United are still picking up the pieces from their shock defeat to rivals Liverpool.

Erik ten Hag’s men will be trying to shake off the seven-goal hammering, but it’s going to take time for players and fans to come to terms with the severity of the defeat. Though, a quick turnaround with Thursday’s Europa League clash with Real Betis could help, at least if United are able to come out on top in the first leg at Old Trafford.

In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest news concerning the Red Devils.

Timber opens up

Ajax star Jurrien Timber has addressed his futre amid ongoing links with a move to United.

“Transfer? You never know what crosses your path,” the defender has said. “This summer I will look at my options and make a decision. I feel good at Ajax, that’s important for now. Last summer there was interest, but I chose to stay at Ajax.”

United have already strengthened at centre-back recently, but should the likes of Harry Maguire move on, Ten Hag is going to need more depth in the middle of his back-line. Timber is still only 21 years of age, making him a potentially attractive option this summer.

Abraham blow

United have been linked with AS Roma striker Tammy Abraham in recent days, with the England international emerging as a possible alternative to Napoli frontman Victor Osimhen.

Though, The Athletic via Football Italia have confirmed that Chelsea have an advantage in any race to sign Abraham, with the Blues holding a repurchase option in the frontman’s contract. That means Roma must inform Chelsea if United or any other club make a bid this summer.

It’s reported that Chelsea may well be interested in taking Abraham back to West London.
