Man Utd sent price tag as Alan Shearer issues Marcus Rashford warning

Manchester United are now preparing to return to action after the international break, facing Brentford this weekend. The Red Devils went in to the break on the back of a hugely impressive FA Cup win over Liverpool, booking a Wembley semi-final.

Todibo price tag

United are said to be interested in a deal to sign OGC Nice star Jean-Clair Todibo this summer, with Ten Hag keen to land a new centre-back ahead of next season. Though, a deal would not be cheap, with Nice reportedly demanding as much as £40million for the France international.

The complicating factor is that United's part-owner Jim Ratcliffe also owns Nice, but it's not likely there would be any special discount given the CEO's at the respective clubs have a leal responsibility to look after the profits of each of the two clubs, and so it is not as clear-cut as Ratcliffe moving parts around where he sees fit.

Shearer on Rashford

Alan Shearer has weighed in on the Marcus Rashford situation at United amid speculation over his position in the England squad for Euro 2024. "If Rashford plays well between now and the end of the season then that could potentially force the manager's hand. But I don't think he's a certainty to go, no," Shearer told The Athletic. "He's not a centre-forward, he doesn't want to play there. He'd be going as a wide forward who can play as a striker in an emergency. You can tell from his body language that he doesn't want to play there for Manchester United. If he's going to be in the squad, it wouldn't be ahead of Harry Kane, [Ollie] Watkins or [Ivan] Toney, it'd be as a wide forward."
