Target latest

United have been linked with a swoop for Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite recently. The centre-back has caught the eye playing for the Toffees so far in this campaign under Sean Dyche.

He spent time on loan in Holland at PSV last term to gain some experience. He has now put pen-to-paper on a new deal at Goodison Park running until 2027 and has told their official club website: “The stature of the Club, how much of a family it is at Everton and how I just love playing here in front of the fans were key reasons for me signing. To sign this new contract was to show the commitment I have for the Club and show how much it means to me to play for Everton.

“Since I joined, I’ve felt a connection with the Club. The fans have been really good with me. For the first game I played, the cheer I got when my name was read out just gave me massive confidence to go out there and play my best game.

“Since I got in the team, the fans have shown me real support and that gives me confidence, especially for a young player. I can’t thank them enough.”

Midfielder eyed

United have sent ‘scouts’ to watch Feyenoord midfielder Quinten Timber in action. According to 90min, Erik ten Hag is interested in the 22-year-old along with Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.

European sides Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Monaco and Napoli have also been mentioned as suitors. The ex-Holland youth international has made seven appearances so far this season, chipping in with a single goal.
