Manchester United have reportedly sold one of their standout young talents from pre-season.

The Red Devils have been busy making signings this summer, spending more than most in their bid to close the gap on the top two, but as we head towards the end of the transfer window, Erik ten Hag needs to trim his squad. As part of that, United are said to have agreed to sell Noam Emeran to Dutch side FC Groningen.

Emeran gained plenty of praise from United fans during pre-season after flashy performances against Leeds United and Athletic Club.

But according to the Manchester Evening News, despite receiving plenty of loan approaches, United have decided to sell Emeran in order for him to continue his development with regular football, and with no obstructions. Despite his impressive performances during pre-season, there is no clear path to the first team for 20-year-old, and he will now get a fresh start in the Netherlands.

Meanwhile, Viola News have reported that United are ready to make their move to sign Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat. It’s claimed the defeat to Tottenham has sped up Ten Hag’s need for a midfielder, and the club are said to be willing to make an offer within the next 48 hours.

It’s claimed Fiorentina are likely to agree a deal should their valuation of between £21-£25 million be met. Amrabat is said to have pushed for a move this summer, but Fiorentina have been firm in their stance, refusing to sell unless their valuation is met. United already have Casemiro for the holding midfield role, but they undoubtedly need more support there, especially with Ten Hag likely to play with a double pivot at times. Scott McTominay and Fred can play the role, but both have struggled to convince Ten Hag of their quality.
