Manchester United continue to be linked with a whole host of players as Erik ten Hag looks to build a squad capable of climbing the Premier League table next term.

The Red Devils look to be making promising progress in pre-season, but will no doubt feel much more optimistic about their prospects once they get a few more new additions through the door.

With that in mind, here’s all the latest transfer news doing the rounds at Old Trafford...

Arsenal join Dembele race

United and Arsenal are both in the race to sign French forward Moussa Dembele, according to reports.

The Lyon striker enjoyed an exemplary season in Ligue 1 last term, hitting 21 goals in 30 outings.

And as a result, the 26-year-old appears to be attracting attention from both the Red Devils and the Gunners.

As per Media Foot, United are “stepping up” their interest in the former Celtic man, while Mikely Arteta’s side continue to monitor his situation in France.

United close in on Martinez

United are understood to have completed the signing of defender Lisandro Martinez from Ajax, according to Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

The Red Devils have been linked with a move for the Argentina international for some time, but finally look to have made a breakthrough in their pursuit of the 24-year-old.

Writing on his personal Twitter account on Friday morning, Romano said: “Lisandro Martínez to Manchester United, here we go! Full agreement in place between Man United and Ajax for a package up to €55m (£46.6m).

“Lisandro will sign until 2027, documents now approved.

Chelsea call off Ronaldo chase

Chelsea have decided not to make any attempt to sign Cristiano Ronaldo this summer, according to The Athletic.

The Portuguese icon’s future at Old Trafford remains precarious amid widespread reports linking him with a potential exit in the coming weeks.

Thomas Tuchel’s side had subsequently emerged as one of the early front-runners to land the forward, but it is now suggested that the Blues will not be making a bid for Ronaldo, following the signing of Raheem Sterling from Manchester City earlier this week.
