Manchester United are now gearing up for their big derby clash with Manchester City this weekend.

The Red Devils have been in superb form since returning from the World Cup break, winning all of their games, but their winning run will receive a big test against a City side looking to make up ground on leaders Arsenal. Erik ten Hag’s men have a chance to prove they are for real against their biggest rivals, but at the very least, they need a much better display than the 6-3 defeat they suffered against the Citizens earlier this season.

In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding Old Trafford.

Ndicka links

United are said to be weighing up a possible free transfer, with Eintracht Frankfurt star Evan Ndicka out of contract at the end of the season.

Ben Jacobs told Football Terrace “This is a player that is hotly being pursued and will be tremendous value in the summer, assuming that no new contract is agreed with Eintracht Frankfurt. There’s a mad, mad chase on all across Europe for the 23-year-old. Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea potentially. Liverpool have kept an eye on him and a whole variety of others all across Europe. PSG is another option.

“Top player, excellent value, 6 foot 4, modern defender, great season so far for Eintracht Frankfurt, can chip in with goals as well. There’s two things to quickly say here. Number one is that we have to bear in mind that a summer move is going to be absolutely a mad dash if the player’s available on a free transfer. The second thing is that naturally anything would be complicated should a new deal be signed. But at the moment the feeling is that the player is very seriously available on a free transfer.”

Scott McTominay has been linked with a move away from United after falling out of favour with Ten Hag, with Newcastle United tipped to make a move for the midfielder.

But Magpies boss Eddie Howe has shut down the rumours, confirming Newcastle are not in talks over signing the Scot. He said: “No, that is not true. The loan market is always a big option for us. But I think getting the right player on loan is very difficult.”

It will be interesting to see whether McTominay is able to go elsewhere, or if he stays and fights for his place.
