Manchester United fan group, The 1958, are planning to stage further demonstrations against the club’s ownership, in the coming weeks.
The 1958 organisation arranged several protests last season to express their disdain for the Glazers’ ownership, and have targeted the opening two home matches of the Premier League season to again object to how the club are being run.

The group plan to do the latter ahead of the opening home match of the 2023/24 campaign against Wolverhampton Wanderers on 14 August. “Wolves - 6:30pm at The Trinity,” the supporters’ organisation wrote on Twitter. “Flags, banners and voices to promote the Forest sit in.
“United together in defiance. 18 years of ignorance, 18 years of silence. A resolution is needed,” they added.
Tensions have only been further raised among fans given that a resolution has not yet been reached on the takeover process. The Glazers announced in November that they were seeking ‘strategic alternatives’ which could have included a full sale of the club.

Bids from Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani were lodged in time for April’s deadline, although the latter has subsequently upped his offer twice. Yet, reports have since suggested the Glazers have effectively put a pause of the sale as they believe United could fetch a significantly greater price in just a few years’ time.
