Man Utd predicted XI vs Arsenal gallery - how will Erik ten Hag line up without Casemiro?

Manchester United will be without the Brazilian for Sunday’s Premier League clash at the Emirates.

Erik ten Hag has a major selection dilemma for Manchester United’s Premier League clash against Arsenal on Sunday, with Casemiro suspended for the Red Devils.

The midfielder has been a pivotal figure for United in their recent upturn in form, but he picked up a fifth booking of the season during the 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Wednesday and is ruled out of the game against Arsenal. Ten Hag does have a number of alternative options in midfield, although none will offer the same defensive solidity that Casemiro provides. The most obvious replacement is Fred, who has regularly come off the bench since football’s resumption last month. He also played 90 minutes in last week’s win over Manchester City and impressed as part of a midfield along with Casemiro and Christian Eriksen.

Scott McTominay is another option for Ten Hag, although it’s approaching four months since he last started a Premier League game for the club. Lisandro Martinez has also been mentioned as a possibility in a holding midfield role, with United having a plethora of players to choose from at centre-back.

Elsewhere in the team, Anthony Martial’s fitness remains a doubt after he missed the win over Palace through injury. Should he be ruled out again, then either Wout Weghorst or Marcus Rashford will start up front. Diogo Dalot is also a doubt due to a recent knock which has prevented him playing in the last two games, although Aaron Wan-Bissaka has performed admirably in his absence.

With all that in mind, here’s how we think United will line up for Sunday’s game…
