Man Utd predicted line-up vs Newcastle - will Marcus Rashford play? Plus injury latest - gallery

Here’s how we think Manchester United will line up for the Premier League clash against Newcastle United.

Manchester United return from the international break with three Premier League games in just seven days.

Before next week’s meetings with Brentford and Everton, the Red Devils face a difficult trip to Newcastle United on Sunday. The Magpies have bounced back from a disappointing run of results by winning their last two, and once again look like they are in the running for a top-four place.

Given the significance of the match, there will be no thought of rotation from Erik ten Hag, even with an incredibly busy schedule on the horizon. The Dutchman said ahead of the game that he is hopeful Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial will be available, despite both suffering from knocks in recent weeks.

Marcel Sabitzer should also be available despite picking up a knee injury while on international duty. The midfielder was involved in United training on Thursday and therefore is expected to be an option for Ten Hag at St James’ Park.

The only major doubt is Raphael Varane, with the defender missing the last game before the international break - the 3-1 victory over Fulham - with a slight knock. Ten Hag hasn’t since given an update on the Frenchman, who wasn’t spotted in the club’s training footage this week.

Meanwhile, Casemiro has been ruled out through suspension, while Christian Eriksen, Donny van de Beek and Alejandro Garnacho are injured. It leaves Ten Hag with plenty of choices to make for Sunday’s match, particularly who starts at right-back and how to cope with Casemiro’s absence.

Here’s the starting XI we think Ten Hag will select this weekend…
