In today's Manchester United news, a key player is thought to be 'unhappy' at Old Trafford. He could leave the club in January, with potential suitors circling - but only for the right price.

In addition to this, a former United player has had his say on a current member of the squad. He is not happy with the start he has made, mentioning that he looks 'lost' in the team.

Raphael Varane is 'unhappy' at Manchester United

Manchester United are 'aware' that Raphael Varane is 'unhappy' at the club, according to a post on X from journalist Florian Plettenberg. Should a club wish to sign him in the January transfer window, the Red Devils would be willing to let him leave for a fee of around £25 million. Among the interested clubs are Bayern Munich - should they wish to sign him, they will need to make it a permanent deal, as United do not want him to leave on a loan.

Varane, like most of United's players, has not had a great start to the 2023/24 season. So far, he has made 12 appearances in all competitions, scoring a single goal along the way.

Dimitar Berbatov criticises Mason Mount

Since he moved from Chelsea to United in the summer transfer window, Mason Mount has had no shortage of critics. Recently, he has collected yet another, in the form of former Red Devils striker Dimitar Berbatov.

While Berbatov said that Mount looks 'lost' in Ten Hags's system, having yet to nail down a position, he stressed that he should use his poor form as an 'opportunity to stay concentrated' and to 'show the quality that [he] showed at Chelsea'.

In an interview with DAZN, Berbatov said: "It looks like he doesn’t know how to fit into that system. He looks a bit lost. He was bought for big money, which brings big expectations, but not only that, his stress levels will be high. It’s not working out, so now is the opportunity to stay concentrated and just be in the game and start to show the quality you showed at Chelsea."
