Man Utd player ratings for 2023/24 season so far: Two score 7/10 but two given 3/10 - gallery

We’ve given 23 United players from this season a rating out of 10.

For Manchester United, it’s been a hugely disappointing start to the 2023/24 season, with the Red Devils losing six of the 11 matches.

Four of those have come in the Premier League, against Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Brighton & Hove Albion and Crystal Palace, which has sees United sitting in 10th place after eight matches.

Performances in the Champions League have also been far below the standards set last season, with losses to Bayern Munich and Galatasaray in the opening two matches. United have conceded seven goals across the two encounters and have struggled defensively all season, with repeated - and costly errors - at the back.

They’ve also not impressed on the ball and too often play has been ponderous and without direction, despite the abundance of attacking talent at Erik ten Hag’s disposal. United have hugely underperformed their expected goals numbers this season, which state from the chances created they should have scored 13 times in the league. Yet, the Red Devils have only managed nine.

From the opening 11 games of the season, only one has resulted in an unquestionably impressive display, that was the 3-0 Carabao Cup win over Palace at the end of September. Yet even that came against an Eagles’ side who rested several key players.

With the season now two months in, and the second international break upon us, our United reporter has summed his thoughts on every United player’s impact so far, giving each one a rating out of 10.

Every first-team player who has made at least three appearances has been included, although that does rule out Luke Shaw, Donny van de Beek and Daniel Gore, while Tyrell Malacia, Kobbie Mainoo and Amad have not featured at all due to injury.

Here’s how we’ve rated every United player this season…
