Man Utd player ratings gallery - the season so far: Three score 9/10 as 1/10 given

As we reach the final international break of the season, our Manchester United ranks every player out of 10 for their contribution so far in 2022/23.

Manchester United have enjoyed a superb season to date, with Erik ten Hag’s side winning the Carabao Cup, expected to claim a top-four spot in the Premier League and are still alive in the FA Cup and Europa League.

Some players have excelled under the new United boss with regulars such as Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford provided the bedrock for a team which has repeatedly overcome challenges this season.

United have also recorded wins over Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona at Old Trafford, with the side growing in confidence as the campaign has progressed. But it hasn’t always been a smooth ride, and no United fan will ever forget the humiliating 7-0 loss at Anfield earlier this month.

There have also been disappointing defeats away to Brentford, City and Aston Villa, albeit they came prior to the World Cup.

With the season now reaching the final international break, United could have as many as 19 games still to play in 2022/23, or just 15 if they drop out of the FA Cup and Europa League at the next stages.

But with the season around the 70-75 percent complete stage, we’ve been reflecting on which players have impressed, and who has struggled. Below, our United writer, Michael Plant, has ranked every first-team player out of 10 based on their impact this season, although the list only includes those who have made five or more appearances.

Here’s how we scored the United players…
