Man Utd 2022/23 player ratings gallery: Two players score 9/10 but one earns 3/10
We’ve marked every Manchester United player out of 10 for their efforts across the season.
Manchester United ended their 2022/23 Premier League campaign with a 2-1 victory over Fulham on Sunday, with the three points ensuring the team achieved a third-place finish.
Overall, it was a hugely encouraging first campaign for Erik ten Hag in the English top flight, with United recovering from a difficult start and a few forgettable matches in the last nine months, to gain a top-four finish above the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
But as Ten Hag said at Old Trafford on Sunday, the season isn’t quite over yet, and United face Manchester City in the FA Cup final this weekend where they could grab a second piece of silverware under the ex-Ajax boss. Ten Hag led United to success in the Carabao Cup earlier this season, with a 2-0 win over Newcastle United at Wembley ending a nearly six-year wait for a trophy.
Meanwhile, there were also some good nights in Europe, with United progressing through their Europa League group and eliminating Barcelona and Real Betis over two legs in the knockout rounds, before Sevilla eliminated United at the quarter-final stage.
But as the campaign draws to a close, we’ve rated every player’s contribution so far and given each first-team member a mark out of 10 for their performances throughout the 2022/23 season. The list doesn’t include players who have had fewer than five appearances, so Tom Heaton, Martin Dubravka, Brandon Williams, Kobbie Mainoo and Charlie McNeil aren’t involved.
Here’s how we rated the players…

1. David de Gea- 7
Won the Premier League Golden Glove and put in some excellent showings, but the goalkeeper also made too many costly errors.

2. Aaron Wan-Bissaka- 7
Played just four minutes before the World Cup break, but ended the season as first choice at right-back. Wan-Bissaka put in several impressive showings in the second half of the campaign.

3. Diogo Dalot- 6
The opposite to Wan-Bissaka, and the Portugal international’s form markedly dropped after the mid-season break.

4. Harry Maguire- 5
Another difficult campaign for the centre-back who struggled for regular minutes. Maguire had a number of good performances over the season, but there were too many individual errors during the campaign.
