Man Utd player ‘likely’ to leave on loan and defender has scan after Man City loss

Donny van de Beek, who has slipped down the pecking order at Manchester United, is being linked with a move to a fellow Premier League club.

Manchester United are back in action this Thursday against Omonia in the Europa League.

The Red Devils will be looking to bounce back from their 6-3 defeat to Manchester City last time out.

They then face a trip to Everton next weekend.

Here is a look at the latest news coming out of the club...

Midfielder linked with exit

United midfielder Donny van de Beek is being linked with a potential departure.

The Holland international spent time out on loan from Old Trafford at fellow Premier League side Everton last season.

According to a report by Jeunes Footeux, Leicester City are now believed to be interested in landing the former Ajax man.

90min have reported that he is ‘likely’ to leave loan.

Attacker stance outlined

Anthony Martial, who came off the bench over the weekend to score twice against City, is said to be part of Erik ten Hag’s plans.

The Frenchman was shipped out to Sevilla last term on a temporary basis to get some game time under his belt.

He is considered an ‘important player’ according to reporter Fabrizio Romano, who has said in his CaughtOffside column:

“Ten Hag has always been happy with Martial since some strong performances in July pre-season and he’s still considered an important player for the club.

“Of course, before progressing on a new contract, Martial wants to make sure to have enough game time and this will be the key point.”

Injury update

United defender Raphael Varane picked up an injury at the Etihad Stadium.

The former PSG man ended up being substitued by Ten Hag during the game and was replaced by Victor Lindelof.

As per L’Equipe, has undergone a ‘scan’ on his ankle to assess the damage.
