Man Utd told Paul Pogba 'would be keen' to return to Old Trafford as Red Devils urged to make offer

Manchester United have been told by former Red Devils striker Dwight Yorke that Paul Pogba would be keen to return to the club once his doping ban comes to end.
The French midfielder is free to return to playing from next month once his suspension comes to an end. Pogba was suspended from football for four years after banned substance testosterone was detected in his system back in September 2023. However, that was later reduced to 18 months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Yorke urges United to give Pogba a third chance
Yorke was a member of Sir Alex Ferguson’s treble-winning team in 1999 and has told his former club Pogba should get a chance to prove himself. He told casinobeats.com: “I would give Paul Pogba a third chance, definitely, because of what United currently have and because of what we know he is capable of producing. Obviously, with two months left, I would say, let's have a look. Give him a contract. You've got time here to prove yourself.”
He added: “You can come and play and help us out with the situation I’m sure Pogba would be very keen. Maybe he might want a long-term deal because of the security. I can see why his name has been mentioned because United have struggled, and Pogba is a damn good player. Even though he’s 31, I think he's far better than what we have now. And if you're going to get a player for free, who's far better than all our players in midfield, then you do it.”
Pogba’s last two United spells
The Frenchman joined United’s academy back in 2009 and was promoted to the senior side in February 2011 for an FA Cup fifth round clash with Crawley Town. The Frenchman was around the first team more regularly the following season but he left Old Trafford in the summer for Juventus after opting against a new contract with the Red Devils.

He won the League Cup and Europa League under Jose Mourinho but injuries and inconsistent performances had a negative impact on his time at the club. In total he has played 233 times for the Red Devils across his two spells at the club, scoring 39 goals and providing 48 assists. He left the Red Devils on a free transfer in the summer of 2022 and returned to Juventus.
"It was a low-key end to a United career that brought so many individual high moments," the club said at the time. "So many beautiful goals, assists and pieces of skill. For a boy that joined the academy at 16 to make over 200 United appearances and lift the Youth Cup, along with two major pieces of silverware, is something that should be applauded and celebrated."
