The ownership situation at Manchester United continues to provoke much debate as the Glazer family’s tenure shows no signs of coming to a close. Despite revealing they were ‘exploring strategic alternatives for the club’ last November, nothing has come to fruition.

There was reportedly widespread interest, with INEOS CEO Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim said to be leading the race to end the Glazers’ controversial ownership. With no further progress made in recent months, there were reports earlier this month stating the current owners were considering taking the club off the market, despite heavy criticism from United supporters and legends alike.

Fresh reports this week suggest Ratcliffe is said to be ready to tweak his offer in a bid to win the race to purchase United.

The English billionaire submitted a different looking offer to purchase the club compared to Sheikh Jassim, offering to purchase 69% of the club, allowing the Glazers to stay in place. That offer led to concern over remaining ownership, but The Mirror now report that Ratcliffe is willing to change his offer in a bid to convince the Glazers.
