Man Utd offered £12.7m transfer windfall opportunity as 'bid lodged'
Manchester United could be set to welcome a hefty transfer windfall after reportedly receiving an offer for one of their current first team stars. The Red Devils will be looking to spend again this summer, but they won’t be able to do that without balancing the books.

Hide AdErik ten Hag was handed more than £200million to strengthen his side last season, but he and his men still weren’t able to land Champions League qualification, only just scraping Europa League qualification through winning the FA Cup. The lack of Champions League qualification means United miss out on significant cash, and that void must be plugged if the club want to continue to invest significant funds in the squad.
Profit and Sustainability rules mean clubs can no longer simply spend as much as they want, with losses capped, while breaches are punished by points deductions, something Everton and Nottingham Forest have fallen victim to.
As far as United are concerned, they need to sanction sales to balance the books, and some players are more sellable than others. One of the likely candidates to depart is Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who only has one year remaining on his current contract, with his club option of a further year having already been activated.

According to Fanatik, Galatasaray have submitted a £12.7million bid for Wan-Bissaka hoping to lure him to Turkey. Turkish clubs regularly pay big wages, but the defender may well prefer to remain in the Premier League. It’s unclear whether United will accept the offer, and if they do, they will need to strengthen the right-back spot, with Diogo Dalot needing back-up.
Wan-Bissaka is also doubly useful in that he can also play on the left, something Ten Hag addressed as recently as April. “They (Dalot and Wan-Bissaka) have both, of course, their skills, their contribution to the team. So we have a clear idea of what is ideally [the situation]. Sometimes, we have to adjust this but, lately, it has worked out very good, and we want to keep that consistency with Diogo and Garnacho, over the right side, because they have their connection.

Wan-Bissaka may well have other options by the time this summer is done, especially if United make it clear they are willing to sell for a reasonable fee. The full-back is a more than capable player at Premier League level, and he should attract plenty of interest.
