Manchester United are one of several teams thought to have been offered Paris Saint-Germain striker Hugo Ekitike but reports suggest they have turned down the chance to take him on loan.

Hide AdEkitike has found minutes hard to come by at PSG this season, thanks in part to a number of fitness issues suffered. The 21-year-old has made just one appearance in Ligue 1 so far and both club and player are keen to find a move before Thursday's deadline.
Fabrizio Romano has already reported that PSG are 'actively working' to find a new temporary home for Ekitike in the next 48 hours and TEAMtalk has now named United as one of those to have been offered the forward. However, the report adds that a move to Old Trafford is unlikely, with the club not expecting any major incomings before Thursday's deadline.
Ekitike is keen to test his quality in England and a number of Premier League sides are thought to have been made aware of his availability on loan. PSG do see the youngster as a future star but are keen for him to find the kind of regular football that is not forthcoming in Paris.

Hide AdNewcastle United are known admirers of Ekitike and were heavily linked with a move for him back in 2022. They had seen a £25.6m bid accepted by French outfit Reims in June but after progress on a deal halted, he eventually joined PSG on loan that summer.
The Ligue 1 side made that move permanent last summer for around £30m but things have not gone to plan for Ekitike since. His sole appearance came off the bench and lasted just nine minutes.
Ekitike managed 25 league appearances for PSG in his season on loan, registering three goals and four assists in the process. It was a run of 10 goals in 24 appearances for Reims that caught the eye of PSG and Newcastle initially.

Hide AdThose goals continue to plague United, whose 24 in the Premier League is better than only Burnley and Sheffield United. Scott McTominay remains the club's top-scorer in the league with five, while Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Rasmus Hojlund have just nine between them.
United were thought to be open to signing a forward on loan this month, particularly after confirming that Anthony Martial would be out for around 10 weeks after undergoing surgery on a groin complaint. Hojlund is the club's only natural No.9 and Erik ten Hag has often stressed the importance of not placing too much pressure on the 20-year-old.
