Top Manchester United striker target Matheus Cunha has reportedly expressed a desire to leave Wolves in the January transfer window as speculation linking him with a move to a top Premier League club continues to intensify.
It was reported earlier this week that the Red Devils were on the trail for the 25-year-old as they aim to rejuvenate their attacking options after a substandard start to the season which has seen summer signing Joshua Zirkzee and last term’s marquee recruit Rasmus Hojlund both struggle to find the net on a regular basis.

Hide AdZirkzee and Hojlund have scored a combined total of just five Premier League goals between them this season, and both have failed to impress manager Ruben Amorim since his arrival from Sporting Lisbon in December.
The Old Trafford club have been hugely lacking a spark in their frontline this season and face the added possibility of losing winger Marcus Rashford to a new club along with fellow wideman Alejandro Garnacho, who is now being coveted by Chelsea.
Matheus Cunha makes his intentions clear
Give Me Sport reports that Mathues Cunha has expressed a desire to leave relegation-threatened Wolves in January.
The outlet claims that the 25-year-old, who has scored 10 and registered four assists in 22 matches, is keen to test himself at the highest level possible and has high hopes of completing a move to Premier League heavyweights Arsenal despite serious interest from other big names such as the Red Devils and Newcastle United.

Hide AdThe Gunners are in the market for additional firepower after Gabriel Jesus suffered a season-ending anterior cruciate ligament injury during the FA Cup tie against the Red Devils earlier this month. Mikel Arteta’s side currently have Kai Havertz as their sole centre forward option until the end of the season - and the pressure on the German’s shoulders has only been intensified by the absence of winger Bukayo Saka due to injury.
As it stands, the Gunners are six points behind Liverpool in the title race and in desperate need of reinforcements if they are to bridge the gap between themselves and Arne Slot’s dominant side.
Is Matheus Cunha likely to leave Wolves?
Premier League strugglers Wolves are 18th in the table with just 16 points from 23 matches. They have lost four of their lost five competitive matches and are in free fall after a strong run of form towards the end of December.
Wolves, however, have found the net on a regular basis with 32 goals this season - and the bulk of those have come from Cunha, who with 10 goals and four assists has been involved in almost half of the Old Gold’s goals this season. The West Midlands side are desperate to retain the services of Cunha this month and are working hard to get the Brazilian to sign a new long-term contract at Molineux.

However, reports from TeamTalk claim that the Wolves hierarchy would consider offers of £60m and over if the player expresses a desire to leave imminently.
Elsewhere the Red Devils also face a decision on whether to trade Alejandro Garnacho for Chelsea star Christopher Nkunku as both out of form stars aim to rejuvenate their underwhelming seasons.
