Man Utd, Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal & Newcastle United positions in Premier League with no VAR this season

Both Manchester United and Manchester City return to Premier League action this weekend

It is a reduced Premier League fixture schedule this weekend with just 10 teams in action as half of the division is given a weekend off. Manchester City head to Newcastle United on Saturday night aiming to close the gap on league leaders Liverpool to just two points.

Meanwhile, the goal for Manchester United will still be to reach the Champions League again next term as they sit nine point behind Arsenal in fourth. They welcome fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur to Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon. Both Manchester clubs progressed into the fourth round of the FA Cup last weekend as City breezed past Huddersfield Town. For United, they took on Wigan Athletic on Monday night with no VAR in operation as they fixture took place at the home of the League One club.

During the midweek Carabao Cup semi-finals there was also no VAR as Middlesbrough beat Chelsea and Liverpool defeated Fulham in the respective first legs, with some viewing the lack of involvement from Stockley Park as a refreshing change.
