Legends of the North: Man Utd & Liverpool announce squads for second leg at Anfield - with some new players

Manchester United trail their rivals by two goals from the first leg.

Manchester United and Liverpool have announced their squads for the Legends of the North friendly at Anfield this weekend.

The match, which will raise funds for charity, is the second leg of the legends double header, with the first played in May.

It was Liverpool who won that game 3-1 thanks to goals from Mark Gonzalez (2) and Luis Garcia, while Dimitar Berbatov netted a penalty for the hosts at Old Trafford.

United will therefore need to win by two goals to level the aggregate score at Anfield this weekend, and the Red Devils have announced former midfielders Michael Carrick and Darren Fletcher will be involved for this fixture, with Danny Pugh, Darron Gibson and Fraizer Campbell also new recruits.

The likes of Gary Neville, Wes Brown, Patrice Evra and Nicky Butt have dropped out from the last squad, while there’s been a change of United manager for the second leg, with Andy Ritchie replacing Bryan Robson.
