It was Liverpool who won that game 3-1 thanks to goals from Mark Gonzalez (2) and Luis Garcia, while Dimitar Berbatov netted a penalty for the hosts at Old Trafford.
United will therefore need to win by two goals to level the aggregate score at Anfield this weekend, and the Red Devils have announced former midfielders Michael Carrick and Darren Fletcher will be involved for this fixture, with Danny Pugh, Darron Gibson and Fraizer Campbell also new recruits.
The likes of Gary Neville, Wes Brown, Patrice Evra and Nicky Butt have dropped out from the last squad, while there’s been a change of United manager for the second leg, with Andy Ritchie replacing Bryan Robson.

As for Liverpool, Xabi Alonso, Glen Johnson and Robbie Keane have been drafted in, with Sir Kenny Dalglish managing the team. However, Jamie Carragher won’t be involved this time around.
