There was no shortage of Manchester United players away with their nations, check out how they got on.

Manchester United had 19 senior players involved in international action over the recent break, with 12 different countries.

Sweden, Ivory Coast, England, Argentina, Portugal, the Netherlands, Brazil, Scotland, Iraq, Austria, Tunisia and Uruguay all had representatives from the Red Devils. For the European sides it was the beginning of the qualifiers for Euro 2024, while the African nations are midway through the campaign to earn a spot at the Africa Cup of Nations which will be hosted in Ivory Coast next January. For the remaining sides, they were involved in friendly matches.

While 19 players were selected, there were a number who didn’t get a call-up. Marcus Rashford picked up a knock and didn’t meet up with England, while the likes of Christian Eriksen, Donny van de Beek, Alejandro Garnacho and Anthony Martial were not called up due to injury. Raphael Varane recently retired from international football and his French career was honoured ahead of the nation’s encounter with Netherlands at the Stade de France last week, with the Paris crowd applauding the United defender as well as fellow retirees Hugo Lloris, Steve Mandanda and Blaise Matuidi.

Elsewhere, David de Gea continues to be omitted from the Spain squad, while Fred was not named in the Brazil roster. Jadon Sancho also didn’t get a call-up from Gareth Southgate, nor did Dean Henderson or Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

But for those United players who did meet up with their national sides, there was a mixture of success and disappointment. Below, we’ve rounded up how all 19 senior squad members fared for their countries during the break…
