Man Utd team news: Five injured ahead of Wolves clash & five others who could miss out - gallery

Erik ten Hag could be without a number of senior players for Monday’s Premier League clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Manchester United host Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday night in the final match of the opening weekend of the 2023/24 Premier League campaign.

Wolves have endured a less-than-ideal build up to the encounter, with Julen Lopetegui leaving his post as manager on Tuesday and was subsequently replaced by Gary O’Neil. The ex-Bournemouth boss doesn’t have long to prepare his side for Monday’s encounter but does have a fully fit squad ahead of the clash.

As for United, there could be up to 10 players who could be absent for the game at Old Trafford through injury and expected transfers, among other reasons. But Erik ten Hag still has a strong squad to select from, and the basis of his starting XI are expected to be available for the season opener.

After an up-and-down pre-season, United approach the new campaign with renewed optimism, and the signings of Andre Onana, Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund have given the squad a fresher feel.

The United manager still is hoping to move on several players before the window closes - and bring in at least one more transfer - and there’s hope the Red Devils can close the gap to Manchester City this term.

A convincing win against Wolves would be a good start and we’ve listed all 10 players who may be unavailable for Monday's game at Old Trafford…
