Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has given an update on several of his players ahead of Saturday’s visit to Arsenal.
With much of this week’s talk surrounding the appointment of Erik ten Hag, the Red Devils will turn their focus to on-field matters when they head to the Emirates.
Both sides remain in contention for a Champions League spot as the season reaches its final weeks and will hope to enhance their chances of securing a top-four spot with a win on Saturday lunchtime.
A home win would see the Gunners move into the top four for at least six hours with Tottenham Hotspur facing a short trip to Brentford on Saturday evening.
However, a Red Devils’ victory would take them level with both North London clubs and add another fascinating aspect to an already intriguing race for a place in next season’s Champions League.
Rangnick has several issues to deal with ahead of the visit to the capital with a number of players struggling with injuries or missing of late, and ManchesterWorld takes a look at what he faces before finalising his squad for the game.
1. Paul Pogba (calf) - Season likely over
The France international limped out of the midweek defeat at Liverpool and could have played the final game of his second spell with the club after Rangnick confirmed his season is likely to be over. Photo: Getty Images
2. Cristiano Ronaldo (Compassionate Leave) - Return Date: Saturday 23rd April
Ronaldo will return to the Red Devils squad in time to feature against Arsenal after coming back to training on Wednesday. The forward was given a period of compassionate leave following the sad passing of his newborn son earlier this week.

3. Fred (Groin) - Possible return: Thursday 28th April
When asked about Pogba’s injury in the aftermath of the defeat at Anfield, Rangnick confirmed Brazilian international Fred is a week away from his return.
That means he could be in contention for Thursday night’s home game with Chelsea. Photo: Getty Images
4. Scott McTominay (Foot) - Return Date: Saturday 23rd April
McTominay returned to the bench for the midweek defeat at Anfield after suffering a foot injury in the home loss against Everton earlier this month. He is available to return to the starting lineup on Saturday. Photo: Getty Images
