Striker identified

United have reportedly identified Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund as an ‘alternative’ transfer target to Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, as per Football Insider. Ten Hag is in the hunt for a new attacker this summer as he looks ahead to his second campaign at the helm at Old Trafford.

Hojlund, who is 20-years-old, stands at 6ft 3inc and could be seen as a useful long-term option up top. The Denmark international started his career at local side FC Copenhagen and joined his curent club last August after a brief detour to Sturm Graz in Austria and has since scored nine goals in all competitions.

Defender update

Harry Maguire is ‘in line’ to ‘leave’ United at the end of this term according to a report by the Daily Mail. The centre-back has fallen down the pecking order over recent times and has seen his game time significantly dry up as he starts to weigh up his next move.

He made the switch to the North West back in 2019 after catching the eye for both Leicester City and the England national team and has since played 175 games, chipping in with seven goals from the back. He started his career at boyhood club Sheffield United and broke into their first-team as a youngster before he was handed a move to the top flight by Hull City in 2014.
