United are reportedly keen on rewarding Marcus Rashford with a new deal. The attacker scored for England in their opening game in Qatar as the Three Lions thrashed Iran 6-2. According to reporter Fabrizio Romano in his column with CaughtOffside, he could be in line for an extension at Old Trafford:

“Manchester United will offer Marcus Rashford a new deal, it’s part of their plans. Even though his current contract expires in 2023, nothing is expected to end next summer as Man Utd have the option of a clause to extend his contract for one more year. Erik ten Hag considers Rashford as really important player for the present and future.”

Bundesliga man on radar

The Red Devils have ‘watched’ Borussia Monchengladbach winger Marcus Thuram over recent times, as detailed in a report by 90min. He is out of contract at the end of this season and is due to become a free agent next June as things stand. His side risk losing him for nothing if they don’t cash in this winter.

Linked-player shines

PSV winger Cody Gakpo, who has been linked with United over recent times, scored Holland’s opener in their first match of the World Cup against Senegal. Louis van Gaal’s men left it late to beat Senegal 2-0 with former Everton midfielder Davy Klaassen adding a second in added on time.
