Manchester United are now ramping up preparations for their clash with Newcastle United as club football takes centre stage again.
The Red Devils are still competing on three fronts having already won the Carabao Cup, and an exciting end of the season could lie ahead of Erik ten Hag’s men. United have an interesting clash this weekend, too, facing a Newcastle side sitting just three points worse off in the Premier League table. Defeat at St James’ park would blow the top four race wide open.

In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest news surrounding Old Trafford.
Sabitzer problem
United could miss out on a permanent deal for Marcel Sabitzer, according to a report.
Sabitzer has made a good impression during his time on loan at United so far, but according to The Sun, new Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel could move to keep hold of Sabitzer this summer. There is no option to buy in the midfielder’s loan deal, meaning United would have to agree a fee with Bayern this summer if they want to keep Sabitzer.
It will be interesting to see if the Red Devils do attempt a move, with Ten Hag needing to add serious depth to his midfield this summer.
Mount interest

United are said to be keeping an eye on Mason Mount’s situation at Chelsea ahead of the summer.
Mount is out of contract in the summer of 2024, and the Blues haven’t been able to agree a deal up to this point. If Chelsea cannot strike a deal, they will likely have to consider selling the England international this summer to avoid missing out on a fee.
According to The Guardian, Liverpool are favourites to land Mount, given their greater need for midfielders, but United are also said to be keeping an eye on the situation.
