Manchester United have been handed a major hint as to their next potential signing after Lisandro Martinez’s personal chef urged the Red Devils to “treat” his client “well”.

The Argentina international has been heavily linked with a move from Ajax in recent weeks, and looks set to reunite with former manager Erik ten Hag in England.

Expectations are that a deal could be confirmed in the near future, with Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano suggesting as much on Friday morning.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, the renowned journalist said: “Lisandro Martínez to Manchester United, here we go!

“Full agreement in place between Man United and Ajax for package up to €55m (£46.6m).

“Lisandro will sign until 2027, documents now approved.

“Deal done - meeting in Amsterdam on Wednesday was the key step. Ten Hag, big factor.”

And any lingering doubts over whether or not Martinez will join United look to have been dispelled further by a post from Kabir Kohli, who is understood to be the player’s personal chef in Amsterdam.

In a post to his personal Instagram story, Kohli shared a photo of himself and Martinez, alongside the caption: ”Farewell dinner.

“Man Utd fans - treat him well!)

In a separate post to his personal Twitter, Kohli also wrote: “Despite my best attempts at trying to convince Lisandro Martinez to stay for another year at Ajax, unfortunately it seems like he’s off to Man Utd.

“Man Utd fans - take care of him. He’s awesome!”

Any confirmed deal for Martinez would make him United’s second summer signing, following on from the arrival of Dutch full-back Tyrell Malacia.
