United and Leeds attempted to sign the winger in the summer, and both could reignite that interest in 2023.

Carrick eyes deal

Former United midfielder Michael Carrick is said to be keen on shopping at his former club after taking over as Middlesbrough manager last month.

According to Football League World, Carrick is eyeing a deal for Zidane Iqbal ahead of the January transfer window as he attempts to turn things around on Teesside.

Iqbal is a 19-year-old midfielder who regularly trains with the senior team, and Carrick has clearly bookmarked the youngster as someone he would like to work with, having spent plenty of time around Carrington. Iqbal could, therefore, get a taste of first-team football in the Championship, likely on loan.
