Jim Ratcliffe, who is in the process of purchasing a 25% stake in United, is not a fan of Casemiro. So much so, that Richard Arnold's decision to sign him is a driving force behind why he left his position of Chief Executive Officer earlier in the month.

Ratcliffe reportedly branded the Brazilian as a 'dud', according to FootballTransfers. While he certainly had a positive impact last season, in the current campaign, Casemiro's performances have left much to be desired. In 2023/24, he has made 12 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals and notching up a single assist.

Facundo Pellestri injured on Uruguay duty

United's injury woes have been well-documented this season. Sadly, yet another player is thought to be heading for the treatment table, after Facundo Pellestri picked up an injury on international duty while playing for Uruguay in a World Cup qualifying game against Bolivia on Tuesday.

This is reported by Manchester Evening News, even though the specific nature of his injury remains undisclosed. As things stand, Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez, Jonny Evans, Christian Eriksen, Rasmus Hojlund, Jadon Sancho, Amad Diallo and now Pellestri will all be unavailable for selection in United's game against Everton on Sunday.
