Midfielder eyed

United are ‘fighting’ Serie A giants Juventus to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg after being linked with a swoop for him over the summer, according to Italian news outlet Corrierie dello Sport (via TEAMtalk). The Denmark international, who has 69 caps under his belt so far in his career, is facing an uncertain future with his current club after the arrival of former Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou as manager.

Højbjerg, 28, joined Spurs back in 2020 from Southampton and has since made 148 appearances in all competitions for the London outfit, chipping in with 10 goals. Prior to his move to England, he spent time in Germany at Bayern Munich, Augsburg and Schalke.

Attacker on radar

According to reporter Fabrizio Romano, United and fellow top flight outfit Chelsea have recently ‘tracked’ Flamengo prospect Lorran ahead of a potential move for him down the line. The attacking midfielder is highly-rated and is being tipped for a bright future in the game, with his price tag currently valued at €50m.

He was handed his first professional contract late last year and became the youngest ever player to score for his current club in their history in January when he found the net in a clash against Bangu. The 17-year-old is a name to keep an eye on over the next few months with clubs in the Premier League linked.
