Man Utd face ‘transfer battle’ over goalkeeper target as Barcelona ‘eye’ Red Devils’ £19m defender

All the latest Manchester United transfer news and rumours as Erik ten Hag’s men prepare for the big derby.

Erik ten Hag’s men have enjoyed a revival of late, but they have been out of action for some time due to postponements and the international break.

United head into their first game back five points behind rivals City in second place, but with a game in hand, so a win this weekend could put them on course to leapfrog Pep Guardiola’s side.

Though, it will see firsthand just how tough it is to keep Erling Haaland quiet.

In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding Old Trafford.

Oblak rival

United are reportedly set for a transfer battle over Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak.

Oblak has emerged as an option for the Red Devils amid uncertainty over David De Gea.

De Gea could be out of contract at the end of this season, and there are suggestions he could wind up leaving due to mixed form in recent seasons.

Oblak is one of the best keepers in the world, and he has emerged as an option, but the Evening Standard have reported Tottenham Hotspur are interested in a deal.

In any case, Oblak wouldn’t come cheap, and is still tied down to a contract with Atleti until 2028.

Dalot interest

Speaking of players out of contract, Diogo Dalot’s current deal could be up at Old Trafford next summer, although United can exercise the right to extend it by an extra year.

There is no certainty the defender will get a new deal, and as things stand, the full-back is able to sign a pre-contract agreement with clubs outside of England from January.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Barcelona are interested in signing the defender on a free transfer, though the Blaugrana did recently bring in Hector Bellerin.
