Manchester United are in action on Thursday night when they take on Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup.

It’s a quick turnaround for the Red Devils, who played Villa as recently as Sunday in the Premier League, losing 3-1. Erik ten Hag’s men are still struggling for consistency, and they find themselves outside the top four as the World Cup break approaches. United have just one Premier League outing remaining ahead of the break, facing Fulham this weekend.

But in the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding Old Trafford.

Costa links

United are said to be interested in a move for FC Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa amid uncertainty over the futures of David De Gea and Dean Henderson.

Fabrizio Romano told CaughtOffside: “There’s been more speculation about the goalkeeping situation at Old Trafford due to recent interest in Diogo Costa, who has just signed a new contract at Porto. I thought I’d summarise the situation. There is no decision yet on David de Gea, still the same situation – we’ll see when Man United and Erik ten Hag will decide. I think Dean Henderson will look for different options after going out on loan to Nottingham Forest this season.

“With Costa, Man Utd are going to continue to monitor him as he’s a top talent and has a release clause in his new deal with Porto.”

United star Facundo Pellistri is said to be eyeing an exit from Old Trafford. Pellistri is yet to make a Premier League appearance for the Red Devils having joined in 2020, and according to Diario AS, the Uruguayan wants out in the January transfer window.

It’s claimed the winger does not want to leave on loan, having already completed two loan spells, and he hopes to land a new permanent club to secure regular football.
