The 22-year-old has been linked with moves to the Netherlands, USA and Brazil, but the Manchester Evening News now report he will ‘likely’ join La Liga side Granada on loan until the end of the season.

“The choice of moving to another La Liga side effectively signals United's willingness to cash in on Pellistri, whose contract expires next year,” the outlet added.

Pellistri hasn’t started a game since September and is behind Antony, Amad, Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho in the pecking order in the wide areas. Should he depart on loan, it would continue United’s transfer policy this month aimed around reducing their wage bill.

Alvaro Fernandez, Donny van de Beek, Hannibal, Jadon Sancho and Joe Hugill have already left on loan, while Sergio Reguilon returned to parent club Tottenham Hotspur.

Pellistri joined United in 2020 from Uruguayan club Penarol and has made 24 senior appearances for the club. He also has previously spent time on loan in Spain and enjoyed two stints at Deportivo Alaves, while he has earned 18 international caps.

Granada currently sit second bottom in La Liga and are five points off safety. The Andalusian club also have recent experience dealing with United in the market and Fernandez spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Granada before he was recalled last week and subsequently joined Benfica.
