United ‘enquired’ about the availability of Atletico Madrid ace Antoine Griezmann last summer, according to a report by Sky Sports. They were interested in luring him over to Old Trafford in an ambitious deal but he ended up staying put and is said to be happy where he is. He caught the eye at the World Cup this winter with France and helped them get to the final.

Defender latest

Full-back Brandon Williams is reportedly ‘open’ to leaving before the end of the January transfer window, as per the Manchester Evening News. He has struggled for game time since Erik ten Hag came in and a loan move could be on the horizon for him. The 22-year-old had a stint at Norwich City last term but couldn’t prevent the Canaries from relegation from the Premier League.

Midfielder wanted

Newcastle United are believed to be admirers of United midfielder Scott McTominay. The Athletic claim the Toon Army have ‘held conversations’ about luring the Scotland international to the North East this winter. However, any potential move is expected to happen in the summer instead of now.
