With the international break entering its final few days, Manchester United will be looking ahead to this weekend and the resumption of their Premier League campaign.

The Red Devils have not been in action in the top flight since they beat Arsenal 3-1 on September 4th, and will be eager to maintain their impressive run of form when they come up against neighbours Manchester City on Sunday.

The clash will represent the biggest test of Erik ten Hag’s tenure at the club so far, but with convincing victories over the Gunners and bitter rivals Liverpool under their belt, United will no doubt head into the match with a fair amount of optimism.

In the meantime, however, there is still plenty of transfer speculation to work through.

Here are Monday’s United-related stories...

United keen on Ramos

United are “definitely” interested in signing Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The 21-year-old has been linked with a whole host of Premier League clubs in recent times, including Wolverhampton Wanderers and Newcastle United.

The forward has hit eight goals and six assists in just 12 outings already this season, and has established himself as a key presence for his club in the aftermath of Darwin Nunez’s big money transfer to Liverpool this summer.

A recent report from The Sun claimed that the Red Devils are contemplating a £25m offer for Ramos in the coming months, but could be hampered by the fact that he has a £100m release clause written into his contract - which isn’t set to expire until 2026.

Nonetheless, Jones has suggested that United remain interested in the emerging star.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, he said: “He is a player of interest, and we know that Liga Nos is proving itself as a great breeding ground for new Premier League talent.

“United will want someone who is hungry to make a name for themselves but who also is not a huge gamble or a huge price-tag. Ramos is definitely interesting.”

Juventus keen on De Gea

Italian giants Juventus could look to sign United goalkeeper David de Gea next summer on a free transfer, according to CalcioMercato.

A recent report from the Telegraph has suggested that the Red Devils may not offer the Spaniard a new contract when his current deal expires at the end of the season.

As such, the 31-year-old could be allowed to leave Old Trafford on a free transfer in the coming months, and it is understood that Juve may try to capitalise on any potential doubt over his future.

It is reported that the Serie A heavyweights could “dive into” offering De Gea a contract given that current stopper Wojciech Szczesny is set to be out of contract in 2024.
