Manchester United are now preparing for a clash with Wolves as they look to bounce back from a surprise defeat to West Ham United.

Erik ten Hag’s men still have a top four finish in their grasp, but they know another slip-up will allow Liverpool right back into the race. Fortunately for the Red Devils, they are home this weekend, and they have enjoyed solid home form this season, largely struggling away from home as they continue to develop under Ten Hag.

As United prepare for Wolves, we have rounded up all the latest news surrounding Old Trafford.

Weghorst verdict

Rio Ferdinand has issued a rather direct verdict on United’s loan forward Wout Weghorst.

Weghorst has had plenty of critics during his time at the club, and it seems unlikely the Dutchman will be kept around beyond this season, with Ten Hag likely wanting a permanent replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo. In the meantime, Ferdinand has explained why United are likely to move on from Weghorst after the six-month loan.

“I just think Man United’s No.10, a top team’s No.10 doesn’t look like a Weghorst in my eyes,” he told BT Sport.

Kane latest

Harry Kane is said to be United’s ‘number one’ target heading into this summer.

According to Football Insider, the Tottenham frontman is the main man as the Red Devils look to sign a striker this summer. Kane will have just one year remaining on his Tottenham contract from this summer, meaning his current club may be forced to consider selling him if a new deal cannot be agreed.

Kane has been heavily linked with an exit after repeatedly highlighting the fact Spurs haven’t been successful on the trophy front. The England international may move closer to his trophy goal at United, but a deal is still likely to cost between £80million to £100million.
