All the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Manchester United as attention turns to Brentford.

Manchester United are now preparing for their third straight home game, though they are still looking for their first win from that run. Erik ten Hag’s men lost at home to Crystal Palace in the Premier League over the weekend, and they followed that up with a defeat to Galatasaray in the Champions League.

Ten Hag is now coming under a little pressure despite apparently being safe for now, and United are going to need to turn things around before their season gets away from them, starting with a clash with Brentford this weekend. In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Old Trafford.

Openda interest

United are said to be interested in a move for RB Leipzig star Lois Openda ahead of the January transfer window. According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, United have already begun their attempts to sign Openda, contacting the German club to find out what it would take to sign the 23-year-old striker.

It’s reported Leipzig already price Openda at £78million just months after signing him for around £45million including bonuses. He has since scored four goals in six league games for the German club. Naturally, Leipzig are unlikely to consider a deal so soon, and United are unlikely to spend so much on another striker just months after signing Rasmus Hojlund on a pricey deal.

Hojlund praise

Former United star Mikael Silvestre has issued his verdict on Hojlund, who has been the one bright spark over the last week or so.

“I’ve liked what I’ve seen from Hojlund so far. [He is] full of energy, pressing, good in transition, and he has a presence,” he told the Manchester Evening News. “He’s trying to find his partners, link up play, to understand the movement of everybody around him and ask to be available to his teammates. [It has been a] good start for him.”
