Manchester United are among six teams thought to have registered an interest in Atalanta midfielder Éderson with the player reportedly open to a summer move.

The 24-year-old is enjoying an excellent season in Bergamo, featuring in all 21 of Atalanta's Serie A games as they battle for a Champions League place. A box-to-box midfielder, he has also chipped in with five league goals and his form across the pitch is attracting plenty of interest.

Fellow Italian side Juventus have long been linked with a move for Éderson but GOAL Brazil has since named United as another interested party. They also name Premier League trio Liverpool, Newcastle and Arsenal as well as French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

Rather than push for a late January move before Thursday's deadline, potential suitors are thought to be sounding out the terms of any potential deal in the summer. Previous reports have valued the Brazilian at around €30million (£25.6m) although that could rise if his form continues.

Éderson is contracted until 2026 in Bergamo but Atalanta are prepared to welcome offers for their midfielder in the summer. The player himself is also thought to be open to a move, although he is not agitating to leave amid a strong season in Serie A.

Central midfield remains a priority area to strengthen at United, given concerns over the longevity of their current options. Casemiro still has two-and-a-half-years left on his contract but will be 32 in February and could leave in the summer amid interest from the Saudi Pro League.

Scott McTominay has enjoyed an encouraging campaign but was up for sale in the summer and it is unclear whether he fits into Erik ten Hag's long-term plans at United. Sofyan Amrabat is yet to impress on loan from Fiorentina and unless there is an uptick in form, the club are not expected to activate a £21.4m option to buy. Mason mount has been injured for much of his debut campaign at Old Trafford since arriving from Chelsea for £55m.
