Manchester United have announced they have reached an agreement with Ajax for the transfer of Antony.

Via a statement on their official website, United said: “Manchester United has reached agreement with Ajax for the transfer of Antony, subject to a medical, player terms being finalised, and international clearance.

“Antony has 31 goals and 27 assists in 134 club appearances for Ajax and Sao Paulo, and two goals and two assists in nine senior appearances for his native Brazil.

“He has won two Eredivisie titles, and a gold medal in the 2020 Summer Olympics.”

United made a similar announcement before completing the transfer of Casemiro last week, and Antony’s arrival should be little more than a formality at this stage.

Once the transfer is completed, Antony will become the second player Erik ten Hag has brought from his former club this summer, with Lisandro Martinez also joining from Ajax.

The deal to sign Antony is for a reported £85m (€100m), and he could make his debut in Thursday’s clash with Leicester City.

The 22-year-old is expected to be the Red Devils’ penultimate addition of window, with Martin Dubravka also likely to arrive from Newcastle United on loan before Thursday’s deadline.

ManchesterWorld have been told it’s unlikely United will make further signings after Antony and Dubravka, although the club would like to add a right-back to their ranks.

United have so far completed deals for Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez, Christian Eriksen and Casemiro, meaning the arrivals of Antony and Dubravka should boost their summer business to six signings.
