Manchester United will now be ramping up preparations for this weekend’s FA Cup final with the Premier League all done.

The Red Devils took steps forward under Erik ten Hag this season, securing a top four finish and a return to the Champions League, but there is still one order of business to take care of. United face rivals City in the FA Cup final this weekend, and not only can they secure a cup double with a win, but they can also deny City a chance at the treble, with Pep Guardiola’s men still having the Champions League final to come.

Ahead of this weekend’s final, we have rounded up all the latest news surrounding Old Trafford.

Mount chase

United are said to be confident of beatin Arsenal and Liverpool to the signing of Chelsea star Mason Mount.

According to The Telegraph, the Erik ten Hag is pushing the Red Devils to sign Mount, who could well be made available by Chelsea this summer amid a bloated squad at Stamford Bridge. It’s claimed, though, that Chelsea could demand as much as £85million to sell Mount, and that could put a dent in United’s spending plans should they go after a deal.

Mount has just a year remaining on his Chelsea deal, so there could be a deal done for less. The problem to any negotiations could be the level of Premier League interest, which will surely drive the price up.

Man Utd may have to wait to get their hands on Tottenham star and reported target Harry Kane.

Kane has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford, but Football London’s Alistair Gold claims a stay is likely for Kane.

Gold wrote: “The current feeling within the club at this early stage is that Kane is less likely to leave this summer and instead will give at least one season to Spurs before the power falls back in his hands with his contract situation.”
