Manchester United have been shrewd with their recruitment this winter. The Red Devils haven’t splashed the cash on new talent in this transfer window.

Instead, they have just secured loan deals for Wout Weghorst and Jack Butland. Here is a look at some of the latest news and rumours coming out of the club...

Defender to stay

Inter Milan have reportedly been keen on luring United defender Victor Lindelof away from Old Trafford before the end of the window. However, Erik ten Hag doesn’t want him to leave as he provides useful competition and depth at the back.

The Sweden international has made 15 appearances in all competitions this term, six of which have come in the Premier League. Reporter Fabrizio Romano has provided this update to CaughtOffside: “Manchester United don’t want to sell Victor Lindelof to Inter Milan, so they will now look for other targets. Chris Smalling is an option for the summer, not for January, so they will look at Tiago Djalo from Lille, as well as some other defenders based in Serie A.”

Club forced to wait

Crystal Palace will now ‘wait’ until the summer before rekindling their interest in United wing-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, as reported by The Sun. The Eagles have been interested in bringing him back to Selhurst Park.

However, he has started to play more for the Red Devils over recent weeks. The Londoner has now played 11 times this term and is poised to stay put until the end of this campaign.
