"Just to be clear, she took a little knock on her MCL so she won't be available this weekend" explained the United head coach.

"She's probably going to be out for a couple of weeks. I was really happy with her in the Everton game so it's just taking a little bit of time to incarnate and ingratiate her to what we want.

"She showed some really positive signs in the Everton so hopefully she won't be out too long. Like I say, probably only a couple of weeks. She'll be starting to then show her qualities and they'll be games when she can start to get to a 90 minute level - which will be exciting for all the fans.

"We are waiting to here back from people returning to the squad today but we've not heard of anything that would rule anyone out of the squad on Sunday" added the head coach.

On the weekend game at Brighton, Skinner also opened up on his thoughts on Brighton's start to the season with the side losing three of their first four games.

"We played there last year and we scored late to secure the game, then we played Brighton at home and that's when Melissa (Phillips) came in and it was close in the cup game.

"What I am noticing, when I'm watching other teams performances there's something a lot closer this year. There's no team that smashes and grabs and then defends for 90 minutes - they're actually always creating chances.

"I think we're going to see a lot of variance in the scores. I'm not stupid, these are the types of games you have to collect three points. We're going there to try and collect three points but - and I'll be clear - we don't believe that we deserve to get anything unless we earn. Brighton are a very good team and we have to perform to our best" explained the United head coach.

Elsewhere, while the transfer window is still two months away, links have already begun to surface with Polish journalist Joanna Tokarska claiming both United and Paris Saint-Germain were prepared to offer up to €600,000-€750,000 to sign her during the summer transfer window.

"The reality is she's a very, very good player. One of Europe's best players - but she also doesn't play for us, so I won't talk about other players.

"What is nice is that Manchester United are linked to that level of player, it shows it's probably where people are placing us. So that is nice but, as I say, she's doing a wonderful job for Wolfsburg and I'm sure she'll continue to do a wonderful job there" added the 40-year-old.

Manchester United head to Brighton this weekend to face Melissa Phillips' side in a 6:45pm kick-off, with the game live on Sky Sports via their Premier League and Showcase channels.
