With time running out and potential options seemingly dwindling, however, it remains to be seen who United will be able to draft in to help them resolve their current issues.

United have been “offered” the chance to sign Espanyol striker Raul De Tomas in the late stages of the transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Red Devils have been largely frustrated in their efforts to recruit new players this summer, and have found themselves linked with a number of unexpected targets as a result.
Among those names was that of former West Ham and Stoke City forward Marko Arnautovic, but after a deal for the Austrian failed to materialise, Romano claims that Spain international De Tomas has also been present to United as a potential options.

Writing in a column for Caught Offside, he said: “A number of big-name strikers were offered to Manchester United following the collapse of negotiations for Arnautovic.
“Atletico Madrid still hope to keep Alvaro Morata, while Mauro Icardi is out of the PSG project and has been offered to many clubs, but there are still no negotiations underway.
“Raul de Tomas is still available on the transfer market and Man United have been advised of the player’s availability.”

United join Aubameyang race
United are battling Chelsea to sign Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to The Sun.
The Red Devils’ quest to bring in a new centre-forward has reportedly taken them to the door of the former Arsenal captain.
For their part, cash-strapped Barca are said to be open to the prospect of selling Aubameyang this summer as they look to revamp their squad and raise funds in the process.

But United also believe that they could face a “big challenge” to persuade the Gabonese star to choose them over Chelsea, who are said to be keen on reuniting Thomas Tuchel with his former Borussia Dortmund charge.
Spurs bid for Garner
Tottenham Hotspur want James Garner, and have already submitted an opening offer for the United midfielder, according to Alan Nixon.
Despite the Red Devils’ well-documented issues in the centre of midfield, it is understood that the 21-year-old could be allowed to leave Old Trafford this summer, with a valuation of around £15 million being touted.

A number of clubs are said to be keen, with the likes of Everton, Leeds United, and Nottingham Forest also reported to be keeping tabs on Garner, but according to Nixon, it is Spurs who have made the first move with an official bid.
That offer is said to be below United’s asking price, however, and the North London club will have to return with an improved package if they are to strike an agreement.
