Manchester United are back in action on Thursday night when they face Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup. The Red Devils were beaten by Villa as recently as last weekend, with Unai Emery’s men coming out on top in the Premier League. United will be looking for revenge on Thursday night to reach the fourth round. After the Villa clash, United face Fulham in the league this weekend in their last outing before the World Cup break takes hold.
In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding Old Trafford.
United are being linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund star Youssoufa Moukoko.
Moukoko is just 17 years of age, but he has already racked up 43 senior appearances in the Bundesliga, scoring 11 times. The young striker is being tipped for a huge future, and both Liverpool and United are being linked amid doubt over Dortmund being able to agree a new contract, according to SportsBild.
As things stand, Moukoko is only tied down until the end of the season, and without a new deal, Premier League clubs will be able to offer a pre-contract agreement from January 1.
United have been sent an update on the future of Memphis Depay amid talk of the Dutchman’s possible return to Old Trafford. Memphis has improved significantly since leaving United, but he hasn’t exactly thrived at Barcelona, and he is now being linked with an exit.
“Memphis Depay’s future is open. There’s a chance he will go in January, yes – but the decision also depends on the proposals – he’s free agent in June so he’d only accept a top club,” Fabrizio Romano has told CaughtOffside.
“At the moment, I’m told there are no negotiations with any club and the World Cup could be an important chance for him.”
